In a bold step toward expanding humanitarian impact and fostering strategic collaboration, Amaraya Foundation on Friday, May 1, 2026, paid a high-level courtesy visit to the First Lady of Abia State, Her Excellency, Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti, at the Government House Annex, Isiala Ngwa.
The distinguished delegation was led by the Foundation’s President, High Chief Amarachi Kingsley Ogu (Ugwu Mbaise), and comprised eminent personalities including HRH Eze Cyril O. Uwaoma, PhD (Ude II), traditional ruler of Lude Ahiara Autonomous Community; Amaraya Foundation’s Patron, Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Remy Onyewuenyi (CSSp);
Also present were key members of the Foundation’s leadership team: Director of Administration, Mr. Chukwuemeka Kaycee Onyewuenyi; Director of Programs, Dr. Udechukwu Egbuhuzor; Director of Communication, Lady Chidimma Nwoke; Director of Partnership, Lady Ugochi Oguledo-Njoku; Outreach Coordinator, Mrs. Paschaline Egbukichi; Girl Child/Breast Cancer Advocacy Coordinator, Rev. Sr. Grace Akunna John-Emezi (HHCJ); STEM Coordinator, Prof. Rafiat Bada Abubakar; Director Schools, Mr. Dom Ukadire and the music director, Rev. Fr. Proceedings began with formal introductions led by the Director of Communication, followed by the presentation and traditional blessing of kolanuts by HRH Eze Cyril Uwaoma PhD—an enduring symbol of unity, goodwill, and cultural heritage.
In his address, High Chief Ogu commended the administration of His Excellency, Governor Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) for its transformative strides across Abia State and encouraged sustained commitment to people-centered development. He highlighted the Foundation’s broad humanitarian footprint, which includes the construction of homes for widows and vulnerable populations, educational support initiatives, youth empowerment programs, and impactful health campaigns, including breast and prostate cancer awareness as well as reproductive health advocacy.
Delivering a compelling strategic presentation titled “Uniting Vision with Action,” the Director of Programs, Dr. Udechukwu Egbuhuzor, outlined the Foundation’s operational philosophy and future roadmap.
A major highlight of his address was the Foundation’s flagship Annual Mathematics Competition, successfully running in Mbaise since 2021, which has continued to promote academic excellence and inspire young scholars in STEM disciplines.
He emphasized the urgent need for collaborative frameworks that translate vision into measurable impact, particularly in underserved communities.
Dr. Egbuhuzor formally presented partnership proposals, noting that Amaraya Foundation is actively seeking collaboration with the Abia State Government in key areas including:
STEM Advocacy and Education Development
Girl-Child Empowerment and Protection Initiatives
Breast Cancer Awareness and Health Outreach Programs and
Replication of the All Mbaise Senior Secondary School Mathematics Competition (AMSSSMC series) across Abia State.
He stressed that such partnerships would significantly scale impact, drive innovation, and strengthen community resilience.
In her response, the First Lady, Her Excellency, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the visit and applauded the Foundation’s consistent commitment to humanitarian service. She described High Chief Ogu as a compassionate leader deeply devoted to both God and humanity, and acknowledged his kind words to His Excellency, Governor Alex Otti.
Her Excellency, Mrs. Otti warmly welcomed the proposed areas of collaboration, affirming her readiness to partner with Amaraya Foundation in advancing programs that uplift women, empower young people, and improve public health outcomes across the state. She further assured the delegation that their goodwill message would be duly conveyed to Governor Alex Otti (OFR).
The visit culminated in the presentation of a commemorative plaque and symbolic mementos to the First Lady.
