LUDE AHIARA HONOURS PHILANTHROPIST AMARACHI KINGSLEY OGU WITH PRESTIGIOUS CHIEFTAINCY TITLE

Lude Ahiara Ancient Kingdom in Mbaise witnessed a historic and colourful celebration on Saturday, December 27, 2025, as sons and daughters of the community, alongside friends and well-wishers from different walks of life, gathered at the Lude Community School Field to honour a distinguished son of the soil, High Chief Amarachi Kingsley Ogu. The event celebrated his outstanding service to God and humanity and formally conferred upon him the revered traditional title of Aririerimba I of Lude Ahiara.

The ceremony began with a solemn concelebrated Holy Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Lude Ahiara, where priests, parishioners, community leaders, and dignitaries offered prayers of thanksgiving for the life and philanthropic contributions of the President of Amaraya Foundation. The Mass set a reflective tone for the day’s events as the congregation prayed for continued blessings upon the celebrant and his family.

Following the church service, the large crowd moved in procession to the Lude Community School Field, the venue for the grand civic reception and chieftaincy conferment. The field quickly transformed into a vibrant arena filled with traditional pageantry, cultural displays, and heartfelt tributes to a man widely regarded as a symbol of compassion and service.

In a moment widely regarded as the highlight of the ceremony, the Traditional Ruler of Lude Ahiara Autonomous Community, His Royal Highness Eze Cyril Uwaoma, PhD, formally conferred the prestigious title of Aririerimba I of Lude Ahiara Ancient Kingdom on High Chief Amarachi Kingsley Ogu. The ceremony was performed in the presence of several traditional rulers from across Mbaise Nation and members of the Lude Palace Council, who gathered to witness the historic recognition.

The honour was bestowed in appreciation of Ogu’s remarkable contributions to community development, particularly through initiatives focused on poverty alleviation, educational advancement, and empowerment of youths and women. Through the Amaraya Foundation, he has championed numerous humanitarian programs that have transformed lives and provided opportunities for the less privileged.
Accompanied by his wife, Lolo (Barr.) Yulanda Añuli Ogu, High Chief Ogu was ceremonially escorted to the royal throne by a delegation of friends, associates, and well-wishers. Leading the procession was his son, Ryan Yazomam Ogu, in a moment that symbolized family pride and generational continuity.

Prior to the conferment of the title, a detailed citation recounting High Chief Ogu’s humble beginnings, professional achievements, and extensive philanthropic activities was read before the audience. The moving account drew repeated applause and admiration from the crowd, many of whom attested to the profound impact of his humanitarian efforts across communities.

The recognition at Lude Ahiara came shortly after another significant honour. Earlier, the Mbaise Council of Traditional Rulers had gathered at the palace of their chairman to confer upon him the prestigious title of Ugwu Mbaise I of Mbaise Nation, in appreciation of his far-reaching contributions to the development and welfare of the Mbaise people.

Speakers at the ceremony described High Chief Ogu as a visionary leader, compassionate philanthropist, and tireless advocate for social upliftment. Many expressed hope that his elevation would inspire greater commitment to service and community development across the area.

As the celebration drew to a close, prayers and goodwill messages poured in for the newly installed High Chief. Community members and guests alike expressed gratitude for his unwavering dedication to uplifting the less privileged and fostering unity within the society.

With gratitude and reverence, the gathering echoed a common sentiment: may God continue to guide, strengthen, and bless High Chief Amarachi Kingsley Ogu as he continues his noble mission of service to humanity.
Indeed, to God alone be the glory.
