On Sunday 14th September, 2025, all roads will lead to the Palace of the Traditional Ruler of Umunneato Nguru Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Leo Nwokocha (the Chairman of Mbaise Council of Traditional Rulers) where all Traditional Rulers in Mbaise Land will gather and confer a chieftaincy title of UGWUMBA MBAISE on the President/CEO of AMARAYA FOUNDATION, Comr Amarachi Kingsley Ogu in recognition of his numerous selfless services to humanity and contributions to the development of Mbaise land. This historic and unprecedented!
Comr Amarachi Ogu, a Mozambique-based businessman is from Lude Ahiara Ahiazu Mbaise. He is a man with a golden heart and a consummate family man whose milk of human kindness started flowing early in life, right from Secondary School days when he was the Senior Prefect of Ahiazu Secondary School Lude, his hometown. Within the same period, he was the President of Altar Knights of his local church, St Thomas Aquinas’ Catholic Church Lude. His compassion, empathy, and generosity have been hallmarks of his character, driving to the positive impacts he is currently making in our world.
Comr Amarachi Kingsley Ogu and his lovely wife, Barr (Mrs) Yulanda Añuli Ogu founded AMARAYA FOUNDATION in the year 2020 through which they have transformed many lives to the glory of God. As the President/CEO of Amaraya Foundation, Comrade Amarachi Kingsley Ogu has created a platform that embodies his philanthropic vision. The Foundation’s initiatives have addressed pressing issues, providing support, empowerment, and hope to hundreds of people in need. He was greatly inspired by the kind gestures of his late parents, Mr Pius Uzodimma Ogu and Mrs Roseline Chinyere Ogu whose legacies still live on.
Comr Amarachi Kingsley Ogu’s philanthropic efforts have yielded impressive results, including:
- Empowering the Less Privileged by providing access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. The Annual Secondary School Mathematics Competition, the ultra modern Community Primary School Lude, the yearly medical outreach in commemoration of his birthday and financial support to his struggling classmates and many market women and youths are testament of his unmatched achievements in the world of philanthropy in this our contemporary world. It’s unmatched because he is not a “political philanthropist”. This means that he is a natural philanthropist who uplifts people in all seasons. All his philanthropic gestures have no political undertone. He is such a man who derives joy from uplifting people. .
- Supporting Vulnerable Groups by offering aids to the elderly, widows, and orphans. The building of a standard bungalow for a homeless and indigent widow from his community in the year 2020 stands him out as a man who feels the pains of the people. Comr Amarachi has also carved a niche for himself through his regular support for orphanages especially during his birthday celebrations. Also, Comrade Amarachi Kingsley Ogu has sponsored the surgeries of many indigent persons, thereby giving them a renewed hope for life. These are the things that make Comrade Amarachi Kingsley Ogu a rare breed and has endeared him to the people.
- Promoting Community Development by initiating projects that foster community growth and development. The ultra modern primary school block in his Lude Ahiara Community is one of his numerous signatures in the area of community development.
Comr Amarachi Kingsley Ogu’s works have had a profound impact on the lives of many. The Ugwumba title holds great cultural significance in Mbaise, symbolizing leadership, service, and community development. By conferring this title upon Amarachi Kingsley Ogu, the Mbaise Council of Traditional Rulers acknowledges his tireless efforts in promoting education, healthcare, and economic empowerment in Mbaise and beyond. It’s a well deserved honour. For recognizing the untiring humanitarian efforts of Comr Amarachi Ogu, Mbaise Council of Traditional Rulers deserves commendations. Thanks therefore go to the Chairman of the Council, HRH Eze Leo Nwokocha (Ato Di Ire I of Umunneato Nguru Autonomous Community) and all traditional rulers of Mbaise land including the traditional Ruler of Lude Ahiara Autonomous Community, HRH Eze (Dr) Cyril Uwaoma (Ude II of Lude) for their depth of wisdom at this point in our history.
